Our government is completely different than ancient Rome’s; our government is a Constitutional Republic – a government that is dependent upon the involvement of each and every single one of its citizens that it serves to elect representatives who are to govern according to the limitations of our country’s constitution. Our government took this form in the minds, pens, words, and actions of our early founding fathers. Our country’s foundational document, the Declaration of Independence, opens with these two paragraphs…

 

After:

American government is a Constitutional Republic, which is completely different from ancient Rome’s. Our government depends upon its citizens’ participation in the form of electing representatives who are expected to govern according to the limitations of our country’s Constitution.  Our government took this form in the minds, pens, words, and actions of our early founding fathers, as can be seen in the first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence…
